I wanted to do a redraw of my fan fusion moonstone! And I decided to do a little comic with it! šš this feels like one of the few scenarios in which pearl and lapis would fuse, if there were no other gems to help, and Steven was in danger, because they would both do anything for Steven šš and it would be the goal of making sure Stevens safe that would make moonstone stable! Otherwise I feel like she would kind of fall apart..sheād be a pretty depressed gem because of all pearls and lapisās past truama š but she would move heaven and earth to protect Steven! ššĀ so I hope u enjoy it! šĀ
Pink throwing herself down an entire floor while Pearl calmly uses the stairs in the background will never not be funny to me. Thatās it, thatās their relationship.
We all know the gems are genderless. Most of them identify using she/her pronouns. And all the gems portray masculine and feminine characteristics to varying degrees.
Here we see Amethyst and Pearl, who we can say (in terms of outward appearance) are portrayed more femininely, wearing traditionally masculine suits. Looking fly as hell! (Iām so happy Pearl in a bowtie made a comeback)
Here is Peridot, a character many people assume to be more masculine than feminine, wearing a traditionally feminine dress! (And looking dAMN CUTE MIND YOU)
Here is our beautiful bride Sapphire, who many people consider to be the more feminine half of Garnet, rocking a tux and looking GORGEOUS AS HECK!
AND HERE IS OUR CUTER-THAN-EVERYTHING-IN-THE-ENTIRE-WORLD RUBY, WHOM EVERYONE THINKS IS MANLY AND MACHO AND SOME COUNTRIES EVEN GO AS FAR AS CHANGING HER TO HIM (SHAME ON THEM) LOOKING SO FUCKING ADORABLE AND HAPPY IN HER WEDDING DRESS!!!!
TL;DR IT DOESNāT MATTER WHAT YOUR GENDER IS OR HOW YOU IDENTIFY, YOU CAN WEAR WHATEVER YOU WANT AND STILL LOOK FUCKING AMAZING AT A LESBIAN WEDDING!
Half of me: Blue and Yellow are going to have to confront eons worth of sins, war crimes, prejudice, the creation and enforcement of biological castes, the removal and dismantling of the very notion of consent, their part in upholding the lies that gems are solitary, unchanging, incapable of love or companionship, downplaying gems own physical abilities leading to entire swaths of gem culture untapped, and thatās not even mentioning the eugenics, use of unconventional (by gem standards) weaponry, the corruption weapon. Theyāre going to have to face the fact that they wonāt be able to atone for all of that (especially re: Pearl) even if it turns out that the theory that White Diamond outranks all other diamonds in terms of superiority and my personal theory that Blue and Yellow are off-color diamonds like Pink was is true and that Iām actually spot on about Blue and Yellow not knowing the full extent of the corruption weaponās effects on gems (as implied by Blue and Yellow thinking that theyād simply killed all the gems on Earth instead of corrupting them). Thereās just no way theyāre going to get all of the Crystal Gems to trust them just like that, at the very least not without a big rant from Pearl about how they could have just listened to Pink 5700 years ago instead of ignoring her and continuing to expand their genocidal colonialist empire.
Payback for not listening to her reasonable speech about Earthās resources.
honest to god, this is a lot funnier if you pay attention to the plants in the last few panels. I recognize a few of the poisonous plants, but there are also breeds of flowers that specifically smell like rotting meat.Ā
I love how Garnet and Pearl character development episodes are likeĀ āSteven goes into Pearlās mind and meets multiple aspects of her guilt-ridden past personifiedā andĀ āSteven follows Garnet into the improbable and helps her come to terms with how uncertain fate truly isā and then with Amethyst itās likeĀ āSteven and Amethyst fucking fight each otherā andĀ āSteven tackles Amethyst out of the sky while having a screaming match about his therapy practices.ā
