I figure they probably start out as big and heavy as a sewing machine and just get bigger from there
Heavy little sewing machine that armadillos into a spherical alt when you pick him up and stays that way for, like, ten minutes. Then cautiously emerges in order to gnaw thoughtfully at your sleeve. Sees Breakdown and beeps frantically until you put him down and let him roll to his carrier. Then run like hell because BD is about to mash you for touching his kid.
:O roly poly baby loves you like a horrible cat
like about that big I think. and they just kinda unfold into baby
Sparklings in TF: Matrix are weird I can’t wait until I have to make the cast deal with one. Also baby starscream is fun to draw.
Protip: in matrix they don’t act like babies. Sparklings are more akin to wild animals- born with powerful survival instincts and defensive mechanisms and little language skills or reasoning. It only takes them a few weeks (usually 2-6 weeks, dependent upon size and food availability. Some can take a few months, or longer, but it’s rare) to reach “adulthood” and let me tell you; if a human and a freshly-hatched newspark got in a fight?
Well, humans are covered in far less knives than a newspark. Even if they have blunted fingers as adults, sparkling phases usually have small, sharp piton-like claws to assist in climbing larger bots, and may sport jaws and mandibles they later shed, so that they can eat virtually any source of nutrients, be it liquid or crystal energon, or raw metals.
….it doesn’t have eyelids yet so it’s gaze is just a perpetual OwO stare.
@transformersmr-hq and @trinketsandtangles These two responses are surprisingly related!
Who needs a scratching post when you’ve got your long-time enemies around to chew and claw up?
