These are the sorts of noises cats use to communicate with each other. Hear how it’s soft and fairly high-pitched? The loud “meow” noises we’re used to as cat noises are the noises they came up with to communicate with us, we’re almost deaf compared to them. Those noises also tend to resemble human babies- we accidentally selected them for that by favoring the ‘cuter’ sounding ones, i.e. the baby-sounding ones.
