spawn room

friendly reminder that Nikola Tesla proposed using the ionosphere to do this on a global scale over a century ago and the only reason we don’t have that setup today is because capitalists wouldn’t be able to make money off it

^^Wham Bam Boom.

Conservation of energy is still a thing. Even if your setup was 100% efficient (it isn’t) you would need to pump enough energy into the broadcaster to power every device on earth simultaneously. Even in one room, that pole is probably sucking up at least five times as much juice as it would take to charge everything in the room through a normal socket. So yeah it would eliminate the need for all these wires all over the place, but you would need to somehow generate enough power all in one place to power everything, several times over.

So what I’m saying is for this setup to work you would basically need to build a dyson swarm to filter off a small but significant fraction of the output of the sun, and beam it from there to earth. As an added bonus you would be able to call down a deadly beam of annihilation anywhere on the current day-side of the planet by tweaking the focus of your power distribution array a little. But the price tag for all those satellites would be like, bigger than the national debt.

… of every nation on earth combined

To put our national debt into perspective, Elon Musk, famous crazy person with the funds to do literally anything he dreams of, has a net worth of 19.1 billion USD. The richest individual on the planet, Jeff Bezos, owner of Amazon, has a net worth of 112 billion. The 25 richest people on the planet, combined, have a total net worth of 1.37 trillion.

The current US national debt is 21.16 trillion.

The NASA budget is 18.4 billion.

You could almost certainly put an array of satellites around the sun to gather and redirect enough energy to simultaneously power everything we have for centuries and end global warming for less money than the current national debt of this one country. The weather control and assassination features are just a neat little bonus.

Oh I hate seeing this EVERY FUCKING YEAR,  So I will put this as simple as I can.  This a power transformer.  it works in exactly the same manner, except the efficiencies is shit. That pole is most likely a massive set of coils and what happens is that you electronics need another set of coils.  Now the pole pumps out a massive oscillating magnetic field.  This field is then picked up by specially designed coils near by converting it back into electricity.

THAT IS WHY THE ROOM IS SHEATHED IN NON CONDUCTIVE PLASTIC  IN EVERY DIRECTION.

Every sensitive electronic including desktop computers in the same secont of the building would be fucked by that field. Radios would be dead, wi-fi blown away by the massive radio interference of the pole. Then there is the fact that the strength of a magnet tends to follow the inverse square law in terms of distance.  So for that entire room to be powered takes more electricity than- what is needed to run several houses.

To put is in as childish term as possible the room is like the base station of a cordless electric tooth brush, or any cordless electric charging station.  For it to be efficient the two coils (one in the charger and the other in the device) need to be in extremely close proximity.

Now the distance can be extended but the wattage going into the transmitting coil has to be increased logarithmic every time the distance is doubled.

Every year some idiotic first year AC/DC electrical student comes across how to couple and uncouple induction coils and has this “brilliant” idea.  To give you even more perspective.  That room in the picture is like living at the base of a high tension power line.

As much as I love the works of Nicoli Tesla

THE MASSIVE COST OVER RUN IS WHAT KILLED HIS ELECTRICAL IDEA NOT CAPITALISM.

The man made lots of money early on with his ideas but was shit at selling them properly and had made an every lasting enemy of the scum fuck Edison who did know how to sell things. Tesla also had the bad habit of letting other people use his patents without compensation so he lost control of many of them. Fuck radio, radar, and even your precious cellphones would have been delayed by decades without the magnetron Tesla developed and modern materials would of been set back decades without his AC power generator.

So commie fuckers like @thequantumqueer need to get their facts straight before they show off just how idiotically ignorant they are on a subject and their only skill is how to parrot some liars propaganda.

The actual reason Tesla’s power transmitter died is because he used up what would be today is tens of millions in investor capital for no return and no evidence of a possibility for return.  His only prototypes failed to deliver results.

Now I do not want to hear another word from the tech ignorant side of tumblr on this fucking gimmick.  You are just showing that you are gullible enough to be taken for a ride like you are some retarded Vegas tourist playing a curb side card game.

reminder that in order for Tesla’s Wardenclyffe Tower to actually work as intended he would have needed to send a one hundred megavolt, 30km vertical glow discharge  straight into the ionosphere. The only way he theorized he could do this is with a bunch of high powered ultraviolet lights.

It didn’t work, and he never figured out how he was going to ever get it to work. And thank god he didn’t cause if he did and we adopted his plans safe air travel and predictable weather patterns would be a thing of the past.

I think Tesla is neat and all, but people on here really fall for the myth of the man way too often.

Okay, this all true- but you can’t tell me that a story set in a post-apocalyptic world where Tesla managed to do that and destroyed modern civilization wouldn’t be awesome.

… you’re correct

The year is 2053, over 100 years since The Wardenclyffe Disaster. Mankind finds itself trapped on the brink of barbarism as air travel is rendered impossible and volatile weather patterns devastate entire regions. To travel between the great cities, one must make use of armored Land Ships that are designed to leech power from the Great Current and fend off both feral mutated wildlife and the abominable killing engines created by the mad scientist himself to protect his greatest invention. Every year, the Land Ships venture forth to connect the cities and embark on expeditions to recover the relics of a long-gine past- but every year, some fail to return, and the knowledge of their creation and maintenance grows more scarce as the old masters of their production die, and the apprentices they trained grow old and frail.

I’ll have you know right now, I cannot look at this room without thinking “robot strippers”
