Yellow-faced Whip Snake (Demansia psammophis)

This little yellow-faced whipsnake made his way into a living room and in behind a cabinet. Check out the cool, atypical, single red scale on the upper left flank. What a unique little noodle!!

They have these sharp bones in their throats that they use to break the shell of the egg in order to spit it back out. Easier than trying to digest eggshell.

Snek sneezes! Turn up your volume if you want to hear the little sneezes.

I’m not sure why she’s sneezing. Maybe because she stuck her whole head underwater to drink. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Anything with a nose and lungs can sneeze, and fish have a similar motion that they use to rid their mouth/gills of irritants.

The recent storm has everyone running… er… slithering… for higher ground.

My dad calls me from outside saying to grab my hook, there’s a snake. My mom laughs as I toss my snake hook and tongs at my dad to grab a hold of the snake, shrugging it off as I casually mention “oh it’s just a little kingsnake”
