Two headed milksnake drinking

Its like for a second at the beginning they forget they have 2 heads on one body

I looked on the instagram of the op and apparently he had to feed them both a small mouse instead of feeding one or the other a standard sized mouse because they’d fight if only one head got food

they’re so precious omg

It almost looks like they alternate between who’s in charge of the body. Some two-headed animals have one head jutting off at a weird angle and that head can’t really affect anything else, but that’s an even fork.Ā

sterrinswildworldThe puff adder (B. arietans) has a very cool locomotion. They can move like other snakes, from side to side, but primarily use this caterpiller form. They might look sluggish but they can actually be really fast if they want to. They can also swim and climb.

No, that’s a giant caterpillar.Ā

Eastern Brown Snake (Pseudonaja textilis)

This sneaky noodle unfortunately made his way into a living room while the family was home. Luckily they did the right thing and kept everyone well away, simply watching the snake’s movements and calling for advice. After a short search we found this gorgeous, orange-peachy-brown snake tucked in behind the curtains. Unlucky, my release photos completely fail to do this stunning animal justice as it was rather adamant on heading towards the road instead of the bushy patch we had found. After a few turn-arounds, and perhaps noticing the long grass and wetland available, he took off rather quickly into the scrub šŸ™‚

So lovely! I’m glad everyone came out of the situation healthy.Ā

My ball python, Harker, is really scared of this one stapler.

image

Every time he sees it, he balls up.

image

I was grading today and sure enough, the stapler was still scary.

image

However, for the first time, I introduced a second stapler!

He was nervous at first…

image

But it didn’t take him long to warm up to it.

image

Pretty soon it became his best friend!

image

There was nothing the new stapler couldn’t do!

image

Including protecting him from the other stapler.

image

The moral of the story?

My snake is a weirdo.

Update: Today I took Harker to my office, where he met another stapler.

He was fairly apathetic at first, but eventually they got on pretty well!

This stapler was smaller than either of the others, but one thing was sure: this stapler was definitely not scary!

Am I any closer to understanding my snake’s strange relationship with staplers?

Absolutely not.

UPDATE: it’s 2016 and I’m pleased to announce that he’s FINALLY gotten over his fear of the stapler!

He likes it now!

Tell him I’m proud of him

This post is so pure!

This is the best story.

Witness me, a professional, wildly cackling as I let my friend try to input data with this angry noodle on my computer

THIS WAS AT LIKE 600 NOTES YESTERDAY WHAT HAPPENED

We saw the angry noodle. We liked the angry noodle. Does the angry noodle have a name?

Angry noodle is a lab noodle it’s name is a very long sequence of numbers and I can’t remember which one this one is

why do snakes throw a fit? 😮
like

if you feed them and give them everything they need but they still don’t thrust you?

is it because they’re… too wild still? O.O

Snakes don’t really have the capacity to bond some just tolerate better than others, young corn snakes tend to be pretty bitey and these hatched recently

These snakes are taken from the wild (well they were hatched in lab but their eggs were taken) and they will be put back when we’re done with them so we don’t necessarily want them to trust us, the more aggressive snakes tend to be more likely to survive

honestly the snakes aren’t being mean they just feel threatened by us and are trying to defend themselves so we really only handle them when it’s necessary
