Picked up a used coffee cup to throw in the trash. Heard something slide in it and nearly shat myself. I’m so sorry little miss, but I have to throw away your little house.
A very cute little yearling Prairie Rattlesnake (Crotalusviridis). Probably last summer’s litter. This is a great example of being cautious in places where rattlesnakes occur when picking up trash or moving debris around, because those are often hiding places!
Little Alta, my female Alpine suboc. Also a high orange, but in a different way than my River Roads. It’s interesting to see the difference in their baby colors.
