These absolutely fabulous Crested Toads aka South American Common Toads (Rhinella margaritefera) were photographed in Amazonian Peru.

Some SA Common toads have enormous crests and some do not. This broad ranging species is extremely variable, and may in fact be several species.

we’ve started feeding this tortoiseshell-point siamese recently. she’s beautiful, aside from the fact she has disturbingly big, bulging blue eyes. we’ve started calling her… ‘goop’

it’s goop!

GUESS WHO HAD GOOPLETS! SIX ENTIRE BABIES! mama goop held onto her gooplings for an entire week longer than she had to, so the gooplitos came out very well done and fluffy!!

Some very beautiful African giant toads [Amietophrynus superciliaris] having a productive day. This species has a widespread range in Africa, but interestingly enough has multiple areas of high occupancy all separate from one another, raising speculation to whether its actually one species or part of a complex of multiple species and subspecies whose ranges often overlap.
