Alzu the thirstwolf is a Lyca, a species of humanoid canids. They have interesting laws, mostly to deal with the fact that once a month they all turn into giant, ravenously hungry nightmare wolves. 

One of their laws, and unrelated to that, is this; if you’re having sex with someone and they’re just really, really terrible at it, you are legally allowed to bite them (non-lethally) until they get the hint and leave. 

This is because the males have lube glands on their equipment which are quick to respond to arousal, where the females’ physical responses tend to be slower. The males developed lube glands in the first place because female proto-Lyca, unusually for non-sapient species, didn’t put up with an uncomfortable mating. That tendency to bite an inconsiderate male never really died out. It’s generally agreed to be very rude and worthy of biting to pay no attention to a partner’s discomfort. 

(now, if you ask them within the boundaries of their mythology why the lube glands exist, they’ll jokingly tell you that it’s because the sky-wolf who spawned them all was very much a top and, like most of them, had no desire to be confined to partners with a certain set of equipment.)

So, I was pretty unhappy with the Luden’s facial design in my last concept post. He appeared too flat to me. This pushed me to try and add more color to him. Not intensely, but in a way that’s fleshy and almost organic, to contrast against his synthetic being~.

The synthetic hair, as well as the red tints, I thought, really gave him the organic appearance I was looking for. I also think it makes him appear more humane, but also more~… not~? If that makes any sense~.

I’m trying to develop my own aesthetic. I want to bring organic and synthetic together in a strange combination, that is both horrifying and pretty, in a strange way. I’m also really digging the color combination of white and red. It used to be one of my least favorite color combinations, but it turns out, if you do it right, it looks terrifically elegant~.

Candiru fish, AKA penis fish

The candiru fish is a species of parasitic freshwater catfish. It normally attacks the gills of large fish. 

Supposedly, it can swim up a stream of urine and into a person’s urethra if they pee in a river that the fish lives in. This is not physically possible, both because you can’t swim up a falling stream of liquid and because the fish is too large to fit into the urethra. Babies are not too large, but have no incentive to swim up someone’s urethra.

Supposedly this is because they’re attracted to the scent of urine. They are not, they hunt by sight. To be fair, this was only discovered recently.

Supposedly the people who live in candiru habitat wear coverings to keep the fish out of their junk. Those coverings are for piranha defense. 

Supposedly there are people who’ve had to have their penis amputated after a fish swam up it. Again, piranha, in this case responsible for the amputation. 

There have been a few cases of an apparently confused candiru fish ending up in someone’s vagina when they were swimming naked. 

So, basically, don’t swim naked in the Amazon. If you have a vagina, the chance of getting a fish up it is very small, but you still don’t want to deal with things like piranha. Also, minnows nibbling on your junk probably doesn’t feel good.
