Animal hoarding is a serious welfare concern and any species may be hoarded, depending on the space the hoarder has access to. White cats, dogs and rodents are common in suburbia, horses may be hoarded in rural areas.
Animal Hoarding isn’t just having lots of animals, it’s a psychological disorder which involves having lots of animals, but also the delusion that you are providing good care for them, even when they are obviously not. These animals may be starving, crowded, and often breeding freely, which means they often become inbred, and we have no idea how inbred they are, because there’s no records.
Blossom was one such foal. She had been born, in the paddock, unsupervised, a day or two before an RSPCA Animal Cruelty Inspector visited the property, in a cold Tasmanian spring. She could not stand at all, so could not nurse, and while all the horses on that property were in abysmal condition, Blossom would have surely died if she hadn’t been seized and taken to our vet hospital.
London-based student Lewis Hornby is a grandson on a mission. When he noticed that his dementia-afflicted grandmother was having trouble staying hydrated, he came up with Jelly Drops—bite-sized pods of edible water that look just like tasty treats.
Each of these colorful “candies” is made up of mostly water, with gelling agents and electrolytes making up just 10% of their composition. Available in a rainbow of colors and presented in packaging reminiscent of a box of chocolates, Jelly Drops are an easy and engaging way to avoid dehydration—a common problem for those suffering from degenerative neurological diseases.
“It is very easy for people with dementia to become dehydrated,” he explains. “Many no longer feel thirst, don’t know how to quench thirst, or don’t have the dexterity to drink.” With this in mind, Hornby set out to find a solution. In addition to seeking advice from psychologists and doctors, he opted to “experience” life with dementia himself through the use of virtual reality tools and a week in a care home.
Once he was familiar with what dementia patients need, he brainstormed what they want. “From my observations, people with dementia find eating much easier than drinking. Even still, it can be difficult to engage and encourage them to eat. I found the best way to overcome this is to offer them a treat! This format excites people with dementia, they instantly recognize it and know how to interact with it.”
Case in point? Hornby’s own grandmother’s reaction: “When first offered, grandma ate seven Jelly Drops in 10 minutes, the equivalent to a cup full of water—something that would usually take hours and require much more assistance.”
Setup, We had been running a long term homebrew campaign and a friend of ours brought in a new player who turned out to be a pain in and out of character by looting everything while we all battled the bosses then bluffed his way out.

Me in character: I cast true resurrection on (characters) armor.
Player: rolls 1 on saving throw, 6 dragons immediately erupt from his body while I flee the scene.

The Anti-Rape Belt (also couldn’t find a site), made by a group of Swedish teenagers led by Nadja Björk. It requires two hands to undo.
Anti-Rape Underwear/Bra (once again), as made by a group of Indian students. Will deliver an electric shock when met with unwanted advances, as well as sounding an alarm.
Undercover Colours. Made by 4 male undergraduates at North Carolina U, they change colours when in contact with chemicals or drugs that cause unconsciousness. Used in case you’re wary that your drink has been roofied.
