Доброе утро!

Good morning!

You have nothing to offer! Leave them alone!

These are squat lobsters. They are not technically lobsters but are called that because common names are silly. Like many aquatic animals, they don’t have any innate fear of humans, only of large shapes and quick motions. This is how you interact properly with harmless invertebrates- you put yourself in a position where they can approach, and, once they touch you, you can touch back.

extremely dumb concept: xenocarcinisation. we discover independently evolved life on an alien planet and most of their lifeforms are bizarre and mostly unfamiliar but there’s one or two ocean-dwelling species that look like pretty good facsimiles of regular ol’ earth crabs. every time. every time we find some uniquely developed source of multicellular life we keep findin crabs. they’re just such a good shape to evolve into. imagine crabs scattered across the universe.

Its time for my bois to get rid of this 1 bedroom apartment 10 gallon tank to a fucking 40 gallon mansion let us begin~

Um, nope. [Image via tumblr]

um, yes.

They climb trees to get coconuts, can crack open those coconuts with their claws, and are nearly impervious to attack from most predators.

They’re also known to kill and eat birds and rats that come within easy reach.

They aren’t aggressive, though, and are slow-moving. As long as you don’t go and bother one on purpose, they’ll leave you alone.
