worth watching for the end

yo what tHE FUCK ¡

Interesting fact these two are playing but they are using play behaviors of their own species so they dont really “match up”!

Dog – is “bowing” and using open mouth “bites” as forms of play

“Play fight with me!”

Cat – is giving the little paw bats they use when playing with kittens

“Cute kittens get booped!”

They are both trying to engage the other in a playful way but not understanding the others responce.

The dog is like “you smack so no play? but not hard smack and no bad noise so not angry?”

The cat is like “why you jump around? open mouth but no chomp? no hiss so is okay?”

And then they sort of settle with a kind of communal grooming gesture they both understand!

Dog: no play? okay i lay… we calm now friend!

Cat: sad? no play? is ok i luv u weird kitten!

sdjaslkdjaskldjaskldja this is the most adorable thing

Another thing to note- cat tail-wagging doesn’t necessarily indicate anger or upset. It means the cat is somewhat worked up. In this case, it’s a good sort of excitement, or at least of concentration. Sometimes you’ll see it in cats that are climbing and have to focus intently.

i love that we and cats share pareidolia (seeing patterns where they dont exist), but instead of seeing faces in everyday objects like us, they see snakes

that computer cord? snake. string? small snake. cucumber? short fat straight snake

snake pareidolia is one of the strongest things in human minds too! people report freezing mid-stride before being consciously aware of a snake in front of them, and the same happens with coiled rope, etc. in humans and other primates. it’s even been proposed that the need to detect snakes was a factor in the development of primates’ insanely good color eyesight

It’s because snakes are wonderful and we must stop and admire them at any cost

‘Temporary’ Names

Vet clinics often have litters of kittens to raise. Either they’re too young for a shelter, too sickly, or the clinic intends to adopt them out when they’re big enough. Whatever the reason, nurses often end up raising kittens and giving them ‘temporary’ names.

The intention of these temporary names is that if you give the kitten a stupid name, you have something to call it other than ‘the middle black male’, but because it’s a stupid name you wont get emotionally attached and end up keeping it. Again.

Which is how some nurses end up with cats that have names like ‘Flea bus’ and ‘Trash bag’.

Folks, I succumbed.

I ended up keeping Trash Bag.

He’s growing fast.

And getting into trouble

Happy post number 2500!

Tell Trashbag I love him

We love you Trashbag

Trash Bag chose Charmander.

I love this
