The Bumblebee bat, (or Kitti’s Hog Nosed Bat as it is also known as) the world’s smallest bat and is also the worlds smallest mammal. These cute little creatures are just 29 – 33mm in length, and have a wingspan of approximately 170mm and weigh a tiny amount of 2 grams. (Source)

This pipistrelle arrived at WAF yesterday after being brought in by a cat. It had a number of small tears to the wing membranes, but luckily was otherwise not injured.
As with all cat attack victims, it needed a course of antibiotics to combat any potential bacterial infection but, once this has been completed, it should be back in the wild soon!
