This is a blue speckled rattlesnake. Despite the blurriness, the colors are accurate! They’re from a part of Arizona where the rocks are kind of bluish-grey, so they match the rocks. Even prettier in person, and very tempting to touch. Y’know, if it wasn’t venomous and behind glass.
There’s a scene in this TV show where a housecat swats someone, except the cat they’re using seems to be pretty docile and would mostly just like to leave, so it’s really just the cat lifting a paw and a generic cat-yowl being played as the person jerks away.
Reminds me of all those scenes where “vicious” dogs are chasing people down with “YAY I’M DOING THE THING” body language.
This show has pretty good CGI, though, you’d think they’d be able to convincingly fake a cat swat.
I single male mouse would do well in a tank that size, especially if you got creative and put the hight to use. You could probably get away with two or three female mice, but it might be a little crowded. A tarantula or other invertebrate would do great in it. You could keep small amphibians, like a few fire bellies, a packman frog, something like that. A leopard gecko, possibly, if you built levels and took advantage of the height. A few green anoles or house geckos, or similarly sized lizard. Potentially a male kenyan sandboa, but you may eventually want to upgrade. It would definitely be a good home for a betta or a number of other small fish, like a school of guppies or tetras, maybe. Crawfish might be neat.
There’s quite a few options out there, but these are what I can come up with off the top of my mind. I’m sure my followers will have suggestions, too 🙂
A single larger crawfish or multiple of a dwarf species would work, or shrimp. Do not mix, crawfish eat most other things. Would be a great home for a larger betta, a small group of wild bettas (I like B. albimarginata), a few small tetras, some guppies, a community of small fish (I’d pick tetras or rasboras + pygmy or dwarf cories, maybe a dwarf gourami), or African dwarf frogs. Don’t put the frogs with other things, either the frogs will attack the other things or the other things will bite toes off the frogs.
Dart frogs would work if you do the research into their setup, they don’t need too much space due to being tiny. Same for bumblebee toads. There are some species of small gecko in the hobby that would do just fine.
As far as inverts, you have plenty of possibilities. A tarantula, millipedes, a centipede (careful of escapes), a scorpion, pretty much every species of roach (and there are many beautiful species or ones good for handling- I like hissers, peppered roaches, death’s head roaches, and domino roaches, though all need some research on setup and a couple are slow-growing), and/or darkling beetles. Some roaches can be combined with some darkling beetles, and other roaches can be combined with millipedes, but most other inverts should be kept separately. You could also put in a divider of some sort and keep multiple species of invert in each section.
No, probably not a good idea to crush those particular types of pills. The commonly used drugs to treat hyperthyroidism taste very bitter, and some tablets are sugar coated to disguise that. Crushing them destroys the coating, exposes the bitter taste, and helps nobody.
You could instead ask your vet clinic about getting his medication compounded as a transdermal gel, which you rub onto his ears. Lots of my clients go that route, so ask what’s available.
You can get “pocket treats”, which are exactly what they sound like, small treats with pockets in the center that you hide the tablets in. Cheese or chunks of meat with the pills stuffed inside can also work.
You may also be able to train him to allow you to pill him. One of our cats had to be given daily medication for awhile, and the way my mom handled it was by doing the whole towel-wrap-and-stuff-the-pill routine at first, and then immediately giving him tons of treats. Eventually, he’d tolerate being fed the pill, and wouldn’t bother running away because he knew there would be food. That doesn’t work for all cats, though, and can be pretty freaky for them, so it’s probably a last-resort thing.
IF YOU ARE READING THIS, CHANCES ARE YOU GO ON THE INTERNET EVERYDAY. THE FCC IS NOW PLANNING ON REPEALING NET NEUTRALITY. THIS MEANS THAT POPULAR WEBSITES WILL RUN SLOWLY UNTIL YOU PAY AN EXTRA FEE. WE WOULD NO LONGER HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF USING WEBSITES AND RESEARCHING FOR FREE.
TEXT ‘RESIST’ AT 50409 AND TELL YOUR SENATORS THAT NET NEUTRALITY NEEDS TO STAY.
Seriously. Resistbot is great. Text it. It lets you write a letter it then faxes to the offices of your congresspeople and senators. If you keep getting told that ‘messages are full’ when you try to call on the phone, try Resistbot.
Also, if you have anxiety about speaking to people on the phone, Resistbot requires no human interaction. You write a letter via text, resistbot does the rest.
I just did mine!!! It took less than 3 minutes. seriously guys, taking 3-5 minutes out of your day to contact your senator or congressman for FREE can help save the internet.
Wonder Woman 2 is about how Diana covertly prevents the Cold War into breaking out into nuclear war and how her actions lead to the fall of the Soviet Union. During her mission she comes across her imprisoned Uncle Hades who was forced to do the bidding of the movie’s villain. She releases him, and when she does he’s like “holy shit thanks so much for saving my ass back there. Here, Imma get you a gift, brb”. But like he doesn’t come back and Diana kinda just shrugs and is like “lol ok whatevs I didn’t want a gift from my weird uncle anyway” and just continues on with her life
The last scene of the movie is Diana in the present and she’s on her way back to her place in Paris after dealing with some Justice League stuff and Hades shows up like “super sorry about the wait I got held up at work with the underworld thing and all, I finally got you your present. It’s waiting for you in your apartment.” Diana says thanks because she doesn’t want to piss off her weird uncle, but she has her sword and shield out when she opens her front door and she’s expecting a three headed dog or a tank or some weird shit but it’s actually none of that because Steve Trevor is sitting on her couch
I ACCEPT THIS
I’m just down for a movie where Hades is portrayed as chill instead of treating him like he’s the Greek pantheon’s devil-figure.
okay okay, i see where you’re coming from, but consider this:
her aunt antiope
Why not both. Both is good
Aunt Antiope and Steve Trevor sitting on her couch, baffled, with a tiny three-headed puppy borking loudly at both of them.
