either-madness-or-brilliance:

One fine day in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys got up to fight,
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other.

One was blind and the other couldn’t see
So they chose a dummy for a referee.
A blind man went to see fair play,
A dumb man went to shout “hooray!”

A paralysed donkey passing by,
Kicked the blind man in the eye,
Knocked him through a nine inch wall,
Into a dry ditch and drowned them all.

A deaf policeman heard the noise,
And came to arrest the two dead boys,
If you don’t believe this story’s true,
Ask the blind man he saw it too!

WAIT I NEVER KNEW THERE WAS THAT MIDDLE HALF MY DAD TAUGHT US THAT THEY SHOT EACH OTHER AND THEN THE DEAF POLICEMAN HEARD THE NOISE WHAT THE FUCK

Good news, fellow men: our terrible behavior isn’t biological

  • The belief that men are biologically inclined to be more aggressive and oppressive is false.
  • Men do not need to repress a instinct to be aggressive because it doesn’t exist.
  • They are taught from an early age to repress all emotions except for anger which leads to violent outbursts.
  • Toxic masculinity upholds this repression leading to many
men not knowing how to communicate clearly and to associate women with
    emotions they deem “inferior”.

we been know

“Toxic masculinity is learned behavior and the teaching of it is systematic and unhealthy.”

In other news, water is wet.

From imdb: ”During the filming of some scenes for The Princess Bride, the weather became markedly cold for Robin Wright Penn. Andre the Giant helped her by placing one of his hands over her head; his hands were so large that one would entirely cover the top of her head, keeping her warm.”

This is so sweet how can I NOT reblog this.

D’aaawwww.

All of the behind the scenes stories about Andre the Giant were adorable like this, Apparently Wallace Shawn is deathly afraid of heights, so he was freaking out while they were doing the scene scaling the cliff and Andre was like “it is okay, I’ll keep you safe.” there’s a behind the scenes thing on the DVD and everyone is choked up and misty eyed when they talk about working with him.

Andre the Giant was a radiant human being.

I watched vid a long time ago, he had a car with a sun roof. He would often stick his head through and play like he was stuck, asking for help.

You were summoned to another world to be its Hero. You attained amazing abilities and powers. Traveled to distant, fantastic lands and exotic cultures. Met and fought alongside incredible allies to stop the unspeakable Evil. Lost friends along the way. But now you’ve returned to your own world.

It’s sad, sure. Those you fought against and learned to love aren’t right next door anymore. There’s no packing up all your possessions and tramping to the next destination, patrolling your home. No late nights watching dragons soar across the star-studded sky. There’s no more thrill of seeing the unknown, of having it break every barrier your mind created for the world.

And yet.

Work isn’t a burden anymore. You didn’t quit your office job, but started to volunteer. You understand how to press through boredom and see the positives and necessity of your tasks. It amazes even yourself. Who knew you’d be grateful for those late nights standing guard?

The creepy old man next door doesn’t scare you anymore. You bought a sword, and know how to use it, so defending yourself should the need arise is no issue. Not that you couldn’t beaket him hand-to-hand, but you didn’t want to lose your skill. He’s all y’all anyway. One solid glare could turn him right back down the hall. Maybe those extra lessons in stature that were forced down your throat weren’t so unnecessary after all.

It feels so good to be driving. As in, you-just-ate-three-slices-of-cake-and-don’t-feel-gross-and-hey-it’s-your-birthday-here’s-a-puppy-and-a-hundred-bucks kind of good. Sure, dragons and horses and giant flying birds are cool, but heck if they aren’t uncomfortable. You never would’ve thought that your old sedan could be the epitome of comfort, but hey, here you are.

Thank goodness for the little things, too. Water bottles, washing machines, the internet, music on tap, proper lighting. Last week, you stood crying while opening and closing the mini fridge at work (It just keeps everything so damn cool, Karen, back off). Anyone could tell you scrolls don’t have anything on sticky notes at this point.

Your adventures there are over, but here, they are not. Being reunited with old friends and family and having a comfortable routine are not the end of your epic story. You find new mountains to climb and goals to conquer. You find your voice and support others as you’ve learned to. You never forget and you always, always learn. Maybe this world will blow your mind too.

I absolutely love this take! I thought about going this direction with my fill and it thrills me that you executed it so well!

Giant nudibranch (dendronotus iris) that my campers found in the surf. I’ve never seen a living one before – these guys prey upon tube-dwelling anemones and can swim like this when disturbed. I was totally enamored!

my original caption doesn’t capture the overwhelming, inarticulate joy I felt when we found this guy

Society: Capitalism and the free market is great because it lets customers CHOOSE who’s the best company and then that company makes all the money while lesser companies have to improve or die.

Millenials: *boycott companies that benefit off exploitation of people and natural resources*
