Someone: Why does Remoraid, a fish, evolve into Octillery, and octopus?
Pokemon nerd: In addition to both being based on projectile weapons (a gun and a cannon, respectively), Remoraid and Octillery are both based on aquatic animals with suction cups, thematically tying them together
Someone: Why does the skinny, snakelike Dragonair turn into Dragonite, a larger dragon with limbs?
Pokemon nerd: It’s based off a Korean legend about a serpentine creature that can become a true dragon over time.
Someone: Why does Exeggcute, six eggs, evolve into Exeggcutor, a palm tree with three coconuts?
Pokemon nerd:
exeggcute turns into exeggutor because it aspired to be the best pokemon ever and it succeeded
I can’t find the original post, sadly, but I did find the images! Exeggcute aren’t eggs.. They’re seeds!
EGG TREE
THE BEST TREE
A HERO TREE
Guys, they’re both. Someone liked the idea of combining eggs (look at the yolk and the name) and the trees, and they got combined.
My friend’s toddler asked me to carry her briefly and I realized suddenly that I have no idea how to carry a child. I told her this and all the advice she had to give was “just pick me up!” which was not especially helpful.
I picked her up carefully, as I would my cat. I shifted my arms three or four times before I was confident that she was secure and comfortable. The ten feet I carried her were filled with uncertainty and anxiety.
Babies are tricky because of their necks, but toddlers are easy. You can pick ‘em up by the ankles, and if they think it’s funny you’re all good. Hands on either side of the ribcage, right under the armpits, is generally a good way to lift one. For longer carrying, you can kinda sit the toddler on one of your forearms, with your forearm at about your stomach height, and put your other arm around them for stability. With a good-natured toddler and reasonable strength, you can carry the kid under one arm like a sack of potatoes. They’re a lot easier to handle than cats, they don’t bite you for carrying them wrong.
I’m not really sure how to address this, but I was referring mostly to furries and the like. I’ve never heard of therianthropy, so I can’t comment on it, but I don’t think it was the main subject of that post.
Why is any community subculture pertaining to do with animals (especially those including animal cosplay, roleplay or identity.) heavily sexualized by outsiders?
It’s actually dangerous to associate groups that have absolutely fucking nothing to do with bestiality with the illegal act, or paint them out to be “kinks”, it’s so bizarre?
Furries aren’t inherently sexual.
Otherkinity/Therianthropy is never sexual.
Pet-regression isn’t petplay.
idk what pet regression is but yeah furries and therians are definitly not a fetish… I try to tell people this all the time but they just INSIST that since I made a fursuit and draw animals that I must be a sexual deviant. Which is harmful considering i’ve been in the furry fandom since I was 12.
Mostly it’s just different kinds of roleplay. Exploring an alternate personality through a fictional character is an entirely healthy and normal thing for people to do. I’m pretty sure every kid ever has drawn at least one picture of themself as something not human, it’s a normal part of imagination. That’s a thing people do.
People often say to vegans, what will happen to all the cows. The answer vegans usualy give is the cow population will fall when we stop impregnating cows. Well that that has to be one of the stupidest vegan answer (There are lots). They clearly dont understand how A.I (atrificial insemination) works.
A.I is carried out on a cow when she is in heat. This is usually shown when other cows are mounting her like the picture shown. So if we didnt carry out artificial insemination in a herd a bull would be used just like in the past. This dosnt change how often a cow gives birth as even buffalos give birth once a year.
The idea that reduced demand will reduce the cow population without slaughter because for some strange reason the cow will no longer calf once a year is absurd.
The idea that cows are “raped”. This is yet enother example of anthromphization. Cow don’t kick or vocalise when being inseminated. If they wanted, they could kill the technition, but they don’t. Why? Its because cows don’t preceive it in the same way as humans preceive being raped. If she did its highly likely the practice wound be impossible to be carried out without cows and people getting hurt. Also artificial insemination needs precision to be carried out successfully.
Why farmers use A.I One of the most popular reasons is safety. Bulls are territorial creature and even some of the friendliest bulls have been know to attack, seriously injury and kill people, each year in every country. Another is to safegaurd against inbreeding. Also a bull is very heavy and can injure cows. Breeding a balenced cow that has better health traits is very hard when using a stock bull. Last but not least sexed semen. Sexed semen allows for mostly dairy female calves. Then after enough cows are incalf to dairy sires a beef sire most commonly angus (in Ireland) are used after that. Also stops the spread of STIs. Thanks @dairyisntscary for reminding me about that.
Anyone who thinks AI is rape needs to actually look at how the procedure is done. The cow’s head is held in place so it doesn’t just walk away, maybe someone holds the tail, and that’s about it in terms of restraint.
And if you watch a video, the cows clearly don’t care. Even the ones not used to the procedure don’t really do anything, they just stand there, maybe look back at what’s going on or shift a little bit.
Cows are large, strong animals. If they have a significant objection to something, they show it. AI is no big deal for them, or for most other animals it’s done on. It’s certainly a heck of a lot less rough than introducing an entire male animal to the situation.
