i have a 10 gal tank left over and i was wondering if it would be a good for a robo/dwarf hamster? i would for sure get a cage topper but.. i’m also thinking it would just be better to get an detolf ikea cabinet instead, even if its a little pricey for me. which would be better in your opinion? love ur blog btw!!

Thank you, I’m glad you’re enjoying the blog! Unfortunately, I think you’d be way better off getting something bigger. A ten gallon doesn’t really provide much space, even with a cage topper. There’s a handful of critters that could be comfortable with that space, but they’re mostly not mammals.

A single male mouse should be OK in a 10 gallon, especially if you get a cage topper. Most of the other things that can live in a 10 gallon are small fish, arthropods, or frogs/toads.
