Thank you, I’m glad you’re enjoying the blog! Unfortunately, I think you’d be way better off getting something bigger. A ten gallon doesn’t really provide much space, even with a cage topper. There’s a handful of critters that could be comfortable with that space, but they’re mostly not mammals.
A single male mouse should be OK in a 10 gallon, especially if you get a cage topper. Most of the other things that can live in a 10 gallon are small fish, arthropods, or frogs/toads.
