Can you explain to me what happens when a cat ingests cow milk for a long period of time? A friend of mine keeps giving milk to her seven week old kitten and I tell her not too. Not the cat is bloated beyond what it should be and has runny poop. But she believes it to be a bladder infection. I’m a little peeved and not sure what to tell her on how milk is bad for cats.

Even if she believes it is a bladder infection, in that case she should be taking it to a vet clinic, and they can put her straight.

That. That’s what happens. It’ll screw up the poor thing’s digestive tract by killing off the beneficial bacteria, I imagine, plus it’s bad for you to have constant digestive upset. Cats are lactose intolerant.
