Does anyone have experience keeping carnivorous plants in terrariums? I would like nothing more than to have a little vivarium of carnivorous bog plants like this one.
Terrariums are BAD for most carnivorous plants. They need way more drainage, and two of the most iconic plants, the Venus flytrap (left) and the Sarracenia pitcher (right) need a winter dormancy in cooler temps.
Try flytrapcare.com for care info on carnivorous plants. Basically, they need to be kept in soil without minerals, i.e. spagnum moss, given water without minerals, i.e. distilled, rain, or RO water, and given very bright sunlight. Flytraps in particular need a grow light or to be outdoors in full sun.
