Omnivores!!!

I keep seeing posts encouraging people who want a vegan pet to get a hamster. They aren’t herbivores!

They really benefit from having some cooked animal proteins in their diet like boiled plain chicken, turkey, beef, some fish, and boiled eggs as well as bugs (kill the bugs first. Sometimes live bugs get pouched and cause impacted pouches by biting them)

So if you want a herbivorous pet, please do not get a hamster. Do your research and find one that is truly a vegan pet.

RATS ARE ALSO OMNIVORES

Domestic mice are also omnivores! 

Try a rabbit. They need as much care as a dog, but they’re good pets when properly cared for, and they’re herbivores.
