‘Raw water’ is the latest pseudo-scientific craze that could make you sick (The Verge, 1/1/18)
Proponents claim that raw water’s health benefits include naturally occurring minerals and microbes. But the reality for any inadequately treated water from the tap or a spring is that those minerals can sometimes include arsenic, and those microbes can be deadly.
This immediately reminded me of the “Water Fluoridation” scene in Dr. Strangelove. I thought that movie was only satirical, but apparently not.
i’m not good at market predictions but i’m hoping 2018′s hottest trend in silicon valley is cholera. or getting punched in the mouth by every person on earth who doesn’t have access to safe drinking water. either works.
Water does not “go bad” unless it’s full of bacteria and/or algae. Neither of those things are good for you. If your water has enough bacteria and/or algae that they multiply to noticeable levels, your water is not safe drinking water.
