Even if you turn out to not need it. If, say, you’re epileptic and someone calls an ambulance because you’re having a seizure, you have to pay a couple thousand dollars for the ambulance and ER trip you didn’t need, and insurance often goes “nope, we won’t cover that, you didn’t need it”.
