-Clear water does not mean clean water.

-”Algae eaters” don’t just eat algae.

-NO animal will clean your tank for you. That’s your job.

-Swim bladder is an organ, not an illness. All (bony) fish have swim bladders.

-Fish bowls are inhumane and outdated, and that includes for bettas.

-Nothing “grows to the size of its tank”.

-Quarantining new fish is important regardless of source.

-Fish are animals, not decorations.

-Your tank MUST be cycled before you add fish. 

-Healthy common goldfish grow to considerably over a foot long and live for at least two decades. 

-Fancy goldfish get about the size of your hand, need a 30 gallon tank, BARE MINIMUM, and live at least 15 years.

-Goldfish can remember things for at least two months, not 5 seconds. 

-Bettas need a heater and should really have a filter, preferably a sponge filter so it’s gentle. 

-Bettas should be kept in at least a 5 gallon tank, preferably larger. 

-Female bettas should NOT be kept together, they will eventually start fighting and probably seriously injure each other.

-Common plecostomus (”sucker fish”) can grow up to two feet long and will absolutely grow to be over a foot long. 

-No fish eats the poop of other fish. 

-It has been scientifically proven that fish feel pain. 

-FISH ARE ANIMALS, NOT DECORATIONS.
