MRA movement as a whole: reactionary rubbish, violently misogynist, belongs in the bin along with its adherents
issues that mostly men face like homelessness, feeling unable to talk about or seek treatment for mental illness because of traditional stoic masculinity, prostate cancer, gay mens rights/acceptance: important and worthy causes!
the difference imo is not thinking these issues are important in direct juxtaposition (i.e. retaliation) to feminism, like if someone is trying to raise awareness of FGM incidents in western countries and all you can think about is immediately bringing up male circumcision you can fuck right off
A lot of feminists I’ve met include all those issues on the metaphorical and/or literal list of things that need to change. A lot of it falls under the banner of toxic masculinity. The general idea seems to be “hi, women are facing a lot of problems, let’s change that, and also let’s change these problems that men are facing”.
