Fish abuse is so normalized and encouraged that it’s a regular project in many elementary schools to create an “ecosystem” for a goldfish in a bottle or other small vessel. It’s literally a school project to torture an animal slowly to death but it’s okay because it’s a fish!

You can’t even make an ecosystem that small. You can maybe attempt something like it with very small animals, but I’m talking about things like quarter-inch-long amphipods or tiny snails, not vertebrates.
