Bean is so confused 😂
“We didn’t ( ( eggs ) ). Are you cheating on me? Where this thing came from??”

Don’t worry pals, I’m very careful, Bean is too young to have any parental instinct anyway do I don’t want him to be a threat to the new baby Cas, so I keep a good eye when he approached us on feeding time (he only has came close like 2 5tines, very confused, not aggressive )

Although I don’t know it it’s actually dangerous for a dove that is bonded to me to be aggressive toward a nestling that I am feeding (?)

@ramseyringnecks, is my dove dangerous to the rescued nestling?

Potentially, in terms of overt aggression.

Bean will attack it to drive it off.

But pathologically speaking, the squeak could potentially be VERY dangerous to Bean!

That is a wild animal. You have no way of knowing shy of testing, what is in its gut and lungs.

Please sanitize carefully between handling the baby and Bean, and don’t let Bean in its room.

Thank you, I’ll be more careful for Bean’s safety.

I usually keep the rescues in another room except when they are so tiny because I want to keep a closer eye. So I’ll keep it in the bathroom instead and make sure it’s well locked.

Another question, can you guess the specie or is it too small?

In my area we just have collared and Inca doves, but this one was brought from a spiritual retreat far away from here so I have no idea what kind of birds are there.

It’s really hard to tell the differences between dove species until they actually have feathers rather than awkward fluff.
