I’m getting really tired of feeling my ribs shift around and scrape against my spine whenever I change positions.
Have you ever been diagnosed with a variety of Ehlers-Danlos?
Bc I have it, and I also have this like… all the time. It’s a very common complaint among people with these disorders, also constantly dislocating/subluxing bones and being unusually flexible are pretty indicative symptoms.
My limbs do hyperextend (my elbows dramatically so) and my skin is stretchier than average, but I doubt I have Ehlers-Danlos… I am reasonably certain my rib subluxation is from binding, ‘cause I have other rib/lung issues I believe were caused entirely by compression over a long period of time.
It might not specifically be Ehlers-Danlos, but hyperflexibility and stretchy skin mean you most likely have some sort of connective tissue disorder. You should really look into that, they can get cripplingly bad with age. You’re fine for awhile, and then you hit your 40s and every little micro-tear in the tendons hits you all at once and your joints stop working right. My mom has to tape up her knee so her kneecap and tibia don’t slide out of place, among other things.
