I am writing to urge you to oppose the Graham-Cassidy bill. This bill will destroy Medicaid, causing suffering and early death to thousands of disabled, elderly, and pediatric people with health care needs. It will also increase health care costs astronomically for people with pre-existing conditions, leaving health care out of reach for tens of thousands of Americans. Again, this is a death sentence. Also, it will revoke funding that helps victims of natural disasters like hurricanes Harvey and Irma. This bill is disastrous and if it passes, Americans across the country will suffer and die directly because of it. Please vote against this terrible bill, and instead work to reform Obamacare with the transparent, bipartisan process being led by Senators Alexander and Murphy. Obamacare is certainly not perfect, but instead of destroying our health care system with Graham-Cassidy, you can work to improve it and help so many Americans keep the healthcare that allows them to live as productive members of our society.
