Piece of advice: if you see dried beans in the kitchen and decide to swipe and plant a few, you should first look up what species they are to be sure that they are either a species that can be planted outside in summer, or a very small species.
These are scarlet runner beans. They are neither.
They’re about 6 feet long at the moment, and I have 2 robust ones and a weird defective one. The defective one sent up a little sprout, then stopped growing, then the first sprout died and two more came up? I think it somehow had three tiny plants inside the seed instead of the standard of just one. Whatever’s up with it, the two sprouts are shorter, but growing.
