Hey, so I was talking to my lesbian friend the other day and she commented that she is completely repulsed by amab genitalia. I think she was trying to clarify that it’s one of the first things that helped her realize she is lesbian, and she’s always been super supportive of trans rights, but I couldn’t help but wonder if her saying that amab genitalia repulses her is transphobic? Like she recognizes the validity of trans women, but wouldn’t have sex with a trans woman because of her genitalia.

It’s not transphobic. It’s just a thing. Squick, repulsion, whatever you want to call it – it doesn’t mean anything about the person in question.

“You’re not [gender] because you have [genitalia design]” is transphobic.

“I don’t want to have sex with you because you have [genitalia design]” is perfectly reasonable.
