i like to think that the people who piloted canada’s jaegers came up with increasingly ridiculous nicknames for them. stuff like ‘winter is coming,’ (alternatively, ‘winter came,’ it depends on who you ask) ‘canadian bacon,’ ‘we’re done being sorry,’ ‘maple rage,’ ‘we the north,’ ‘kaiju are a bunch of hosers,’ and it pissed off some of higher ups because this is serious stop dicking around but everyone found it absolutely fucking hilarious and kept doing it before the brass gave up
