Because you can’t buy anything at a slaughterhouse. You don’t take your kids to an applesauce factory, that doesn’t sell directly to the public either. You buy meat from a butcher, a place children are welcome and usually happy to go to.

“There’s a reason you have kids watch cartoons instead of open heart surgery.”

See how I can twist stuff too?

But I would take my kids to all sorts of food processing plants like: applesauce factories, Busch Gardens, taffy makers, so they could see “how its made”, “where it comes from”. But I think slaughter facilities wouldn’t allow that, oh yeah, thats right! ITS A FELONY TO DO THAT b/c they don’t want the public to see/know the TRUTH. AND at a butcher is AFTER the murder. YES I AGREE WITH YOU when you say you are able to “twist stuff"too! You are really good at it! There is even a show called, “How its made” pretty sure they never show how cattle, chicken, pig becomes murdered, just the more palatable packaging,(oh like a butcher).
Yes, you are REALLY good at spouting, spinning, twisting the truth, because you have an interest in the animal agriculture /killing …torture…mutilation… of animals. Im SURE you will find a way to justify torturing animals from cradle to grave just so you can have something to eat; sad for you.
So lets make this clear: (but you are so good at twisting and spinning Im sure you will ) I could easily have a child plant an apple seed watch it grow to a tree and harvest those apples into pies, more seeds, more trees. Even let them help. Than I could raise a cow, chicken, goat, pig, and then let them witness or help me kill, then dismember, dispose of the entrails, blood, head, tails. And turn into food.
I wonder if you took a child and did that what questions they would have? If they did both, I mean. Gee how come we haven’t needed to tend to the trees in days but every single day we have to feed n water the animal? How come the tree cant be fertilized with the manure from the animals? WHAT are we going to do with ALL THIS POOP AND URINE?! But it might get into the drinking water there?! Can I name my animal? I’m calling my animal “Happy dance” ! Gee the tree is so big seems hard to believe after we did so little to it, and so many apples, I cant eat all these apples, I love my tree mmm we can make pies? Yummy! Take some to neighbors? School too?! Can n jar some for later too oh can I help? So much fun every year? I want to grow more trees!
But what do you mean the doctor needs to visit happy dance? Needs some antibiotics b/c happy dance got too close to the feces n urine. Hope happy dance is better soon. So fun to watch them “dance"in the pasture with the others. Wonder can you tell me why the big male ones are trying to get on the girl ones like that? Happy dance is sooo big these days …what? You want to do WHAT?!?!!! NO NO NO! You … we can’t kill happy dance? No no !!!! I don’t care if its instant no please, not Charlotte the pig too?!?!?! Get away from them with that spike gun thing NOOOO!
You killed them the bodies, guts everywhere. This is horrible! What do we do with all the left over body parts? No way?! Dog food, hot DOGS GROOOSSSS! Blood pudding, is everyone gone insane?! No more happy dance the cow or Charlotte the pig… ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? All that work! Heartache! For this little bit of meat? I still have my tree. But only memories of HD & charlotte… Im sorry I don’t want any bacon or steak, not if , not now that I ,,,I CANNOT EAT MY HAPPY DANCE OR CHARLOTTE!!!!
Yeah I can just imagine the truth behind the difference between a apple farm and a cattle ranch for a child, if they aren’t sheltered from the slaughter of , and the amount of drugs and labor that goes into raising animals. It would seriously be too devastating for them to witness the slaughter/murder of animals versus the picking of apples. Oh I’m sorry thats not a direct comparison is it? (Almost as embolic as using slaughter house as equivalent to butcher shop). So, lets use … be too devastating for a child to witness carving up fruits and vegetables, as opposed to carving up an animal from live to food.
So let me just cut you off at more nonsense. Save for once the meat is ready for neat little packaging they of course do that.

This is a whole lot of fuckin words for my two sentences like holy shit I really touched a nerve didn’t I? But you know what? LOTS of kids help their parents raise and slaughter animals (ever heard of 4H or FFA?). I know people who killed their chickens as children and helped cook them. You wanna know why you can’t bring children to a slaughterhouse? BECAUSE IT’S A FUCKING BIOHAZARD. You can bring in diseases that will infect the meat. And yes, you CAN name your animals. Most people do.

My advice for you retort? Learn some grammar and coherent writing, because I got a headache like four sentences in and stopped reading. It’s important to keep your reader’s attention if you want to habe an argument.

Commenting because I spent the first 18 years of my life raising animals, and about 12 of them were spent in the 4-H program. I attended multiple fairs. Raised over 100 animals throughout my time on the farm (25 goats at a time adds up as they reproduce and we sell/butcher out. I have raised at LEAST 200 goats in my life. Mix in that we could have about 60 chickens at one time when we were able, and that reeeaally boosts the numbers)

I’ve raised:
– Pigs
– Goats
– Sheep
– An array of Poultry (Chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, guinea)
– Game birds (Pheasant)
– Cattle
– Horses

The horses aside (Lack of a legal means of butchering this particular large animal, that is literally there to just eat all your food and break fences if you aren’t using them for sporting events), everything on that list wound up on someones plate, on some point.

Did we butcher every goat? Hell no. We had specific goats for eating, specific goats for breeding, and goats that we would sell (which were either kept as pets, eaten, or used for breeding). We would butcher out about 15 chickens at a time to last us a few months. We NEVER had to shop for eggs, because the chickens would lay so frequently.

I primarily raised sheep for 4-H, but my carcass goat (an animal raised specifically to be butchered out) won the highest award after it was butchered out. I technically made about 10 grand off of that one animal, but gave a majority to my mother because her truck was in need of serious repairs and I was afraid she might get into a serious crash because it was so bad.

Fun things? Kids who raise animals, often name them. I raised all my sheep. I named any pigs I raised. Hell I even named the cattle, and 9 times out of 10 it was an absolutely ridiculous name. When I had to be there when ducks were hatching, I usually named based on who hatched fastest and who hatched slowest. They followed me around because they were my babies. Did I still eat them? Yes. Most of the ducks that I raised, I did eventually eat.

Is that sad? Depends on how you look at it. A duck does not sit and contemplate its own existence every night. With my care it got to live in a comfortable environment, had constant access to CLEAN water, it had an array of foods in its diet (potato skins, apples, greens, and so on), never had to worry about predators, etc. That duck lived a VERY happy live, and was always comfortable. And regardless of your views, nature dictates that many creatures survive by eating other organisms. Be that organism a plant, or an animal, it does not matter – you eat to survive, and KILL to survive when you need to.

Vegans sit there and think they don’t kill anything by eating; but that’s not how life works. You kill your fair share of animals by having them chased out of their habitat for the sake of building your crops. And because specific crops can only be grown in specific environments during a specific period of time, you ABSOLUTELY HAVE to clear out a large space of land for the sake of doing it. The farm animals might take up space, but they can be put anywhere and be kept alive; because all of their needs are attended to when they are in captivity. They get a safe place to sleep. Near constant access to food. They are safe from predators that will get in and kill them through methods that are going to be a hell of a lot slower and more brutal than modern day slaughter methods.

I don’t care what the hell you think makes someone evil for killing and eating an animal; when that is literally nature. If you want to equate a cow to a man in terms of rights, then we must also equate man to cow in the same sense. We are not ABOVE any law in nature, which states “eat to survive”. Regardless of what you think our biology is, if we were NOT designed to eat meat, then everyone who did eat meat would not be getting any sort of needed nutrition from it and we would be getting sick very quickly. Going off of a natural diet is what makes you sick; and I have seen many children be hospitalized because some vegan idiot decided ‘my child will be raised vegan’ when that only promotes a number of health issues in children.

More-so than eating meat, because the lack of essential nutrition prevents proper brain development. Its pretty fucking sad if a child goes outside and smells someone grilling a hamburger, and BEGS their mother to let them have something like that for dinner – because the mother thinks that the life of an animal is going to be more important than the life of their child. Even cows will kill, for the sake of providing for their offspring.

Fuck off with your nonsense about animal rights. Captive animals get to live easier and in more comfort than wild animals do. We just need to work on developing more efficient and humane ways of slaughtering the animals we want to eat, and refrain from needlessly killing the ones that can have other uses.
