If you want someone to agree to a
request, using the phrase, ‘but you are
free to refuse,’ will double your chances.
While studies show it works equally well
no matter the type of request, how or why
it works remains unclear – but there are
theories that it puts people at ease
because it shows respect and doesn’t
make them feel like their freedom
to say no is being violated. Source Source 2 Source 3

handing over unbeta’d writing feels like sitting in confessional

I have sat in a confessional. I can confirm that handing over unbeta’d writing is 210% worse.

confessional: “here are my sins”

writing: “here is an unfiltered, direct manifestation of the contents of my soul.”

priest: “I am required to die rather than reveal to anyone what you tell me.”

beta reader: “OMGGGGG I CAN’T WAIT TO SCREAM ABOUT THIS ON MY TUMBLR AS;LDKFJAASLKJDF”

#sometimes i want the validation#sometimes i’m like no.#stop liking this#save yourself#shun me before i write again

if an archaeologist says an artifact was probably for “ritual purposes” it means “i have no fuckin clue”

but if they say it was for “fertility rituals” they mean “i know exactly what it was for but i dont want to say ‘ancient dildo’”

3D Printed Hairy Lion

This Lion was printed using Hatchbox Bronze PLA on the Geeetech MeCreator2. It printed great on the first try. I wish I had used a long blade knife to cut the hair from the shroud, but it still removed fairy easily. The hardest part is trying to sculpt his hair. I used a heat gun, but a hair dryer would have worked better and would have been more fitting. LOL!!!

The model I used can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2007221
