blvkandasexual:

For the anon who messaged me earlier, and any other ace that’s worried about a future partner leaving them over their asexuality, please take the time to read this!!!

I’m telling yall: Anyone who is willing to leave you over your asexuality is a horrible person. I know in due time you’ll all find love like this.

hang on.

it is not, by any means, impossible for asexual people to date non-asexual people. and it is not, by any means, acceptable to force an asexual person to ignore their identity for the sake of a relationship. but please, please, please don’t say that people can’t leave a relationship where their partner is asexual and they are not.

many asexual people aren’t okay with having sex, and this is totally fine. but people of all orientations are also allowed to consider a sexual relationship to be an important part of their personal sex life. it’s wrong to make a person change so that you can have sex or to blame them for your sexual dissatisfaction, but it’s not wrong to want sex in general. and for some people, this is a sexual incompatibility that simply can’t be fixed (especially if they’re monogamous).

relationships don’t inherently need to have sex within them, and asexual/non-asexual relationships can be incredibly fruitful with or without sex. but framing “i’m sorry, but having a sexual relationship is important to me, and that’s not your fault, but this won’t work” as being a “horrible person” is so damaging. please don’t demonize people for sexual incompatibility.

It is OK to want a relationship that involves sex! Sex is healthy for you if you enjoy it, and is an important part of social interaction for many people. If two people are in a monogamous relationship where one person has a reasonably high sex drive and the other absolutely does not want to have sex, that situation has a pretty good chance of not working out all that well.

You deserve to be in a relationship that fits your needs. It is OK for those needs to include no sex, it is OK for those needs to include sex very rarely, and it is OK for those needs to include frequent sex.

You are not selfish if you want a relationship that includes sex, as long as you don’t try to push sex on anyone.

Here Are 28 Things Millennials Are Killing In Cold Blood

no mercy run

And they say the millennial generation is lazy and entitled.

Here’s a secret: it’s not OUR JOB to adapt to the market. It’s not OUR JOB to buy napkins and golf clubs and drive to the mall on the other side of town to make sure it doesn’t go out of business.

Did previous generations kill the horse and wagons after the car was invited? Did those lazy citizens kill the town crier by buying into that newfangled newspaper business?

What people want and are ready to spend their money on will change over time. Today we have different goals and different standards – like I will invite my friends over for dinner and instead of napkins I’ll put a roll of paper towels on the table. And my friends won’t clutch their pearls and hiss “you uncultured swine” at me, because we value that paper towels are cheap and efficient! Napkins may be pretty but some of them end up being unused, and I’ll have to throw them away after the dinner and it’s a fucking waste.

Did your mall end up as an empty husk outside of town because those pesky millennials buy all their clothes online now? You lucky son of a gun. Now you get to use your ~*IMAGINATION*~ and repurpose that ugly windowless box into something actually useful. Why not a nice office space? (x)

image

Or how about you make the old stores into cute micro apartments? I WOULD LOVE TO LIVE IN ONE OF THESE! (x)

image
image

Are the stores fine but the parking lot empty because those cheap hipsters would rather take a bus or bike to the mall instead of buying a car like regular people? Do like they did in Seattle and turn it into a fucking beautiful water treatment facility and park. (x)

This thing collects storm-water runoff to create and provide nutrients to small pools and green areas. It works like a natural creek that ALSO filters out pollutants that would damage the salmon population! AS A MILLENNIAL I CAN SAY THAT THIS IS SO FUCKING UP MY ALLEY YOU HAVE NO IDEA. I WOULD GO TO THAT MALL, BUY A COFFEE AND GO OUT TO LOOK AT THE BIRDS.

image

Actual fucking plovers. When was the last time a parking lot did something for the environment except gathering upp more roadkill for the scavengers?

I could also go into why no-one is watching shitty sitcoms or boring movies because we have access to so much media that we can filter out the generic stuff that doesn’t appeal to us, but that is an essay in itself. We are extremely capable on spending it on media that speaks to us though (hey this is unrelated but did you know that Wonder Woman has passed 570M$ worldwide?)

TLDR: Market powers are entitled and used to people spending an ever-increasing amount of money on their shitty products. When this trend turns they are too unimaginative and lazy to do something about it so instead they’ll whine about how their former customers are “killing” them.

They can either DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT or spend the rest of their days crying into their surplus napkins.

Yes.

Also, the idolized lifestyle of the 1950s-2000s was unsustainable. The bubble burst, and my generation inherited a ruined world whose elders refuse acknowledge that their prosperity came at our expense.

I noticed you said that animal rights and animal welfare aren’t the same, whats the difference ?

zoologicallyobsessed:

The short and easy to remember version? (because I don’t have the energy to have a full blown essay long discussion on it. Sorry)

Animal rights groups are (usually for profit) organisations / companies like PETA, Animal Liberation Front and the

Humane Society. They usually push for radical and extreme actions “for” animals, often stating they want animals to have “equal” rights to humans. They often have no experts in animal science, health or biology in general in their organisations.

Animal welfare on the other hand, are (usually non-for profit or charity) organisations or governing bodies such as RSPCA, Animal Welfare Institute, or the The Wilderness Society. Animal welfare is for the treatment, care and state of animals, aiming to protect and ensure the basic needs of an animal are met. These organisations therefore push for legislation and acts that ensure animal’s basic welfare and needs are met, and protest against companies, legislation or people who go against these basic needs. Often are backed by scientists and experts, vets ect.

I think simply comparing the above animal rights groups to that of the animal welfare groups shows pretty well the very clear difference between the two.

Animal rights = “ANIMALS R PEOPLE!! NO PETS!! NO ZOOS!! RELEASE THE FARM ANIMALS!!”

Animal wellfare: “Hey, let’s maybe not have factory farms, and also try to make captivity as non-stressful as possible. And conservation, let’s do that.”

So there’s that one trope in a lot of mechpreg stuff, where the carrier has to receive transfluid donations fron their partner, to go towards forging the newspark frame, right?

So let’s say a mech has multiple partners. Does that mean that the newsparks’ physical appearance, alt mode, and frame type would be influenced by how many builders their carrier had, as opposed to whomever was present for the initial ignition?

Imagine one group of mechs running a betting pool on what their sparkling is going to look like.

“10 shanix says it’s a warframe.”

“No way, we’ve been running trains on ‘em since ignition and three of us are sports cars, it’s gonna be a speedster.”

I love this idea.

The knocked-up mech is suddenly the most popular person on base and they don’t know why. Seems like they’ve barely finished up fragging one person before two more people are beating down their door asking for a turn. They’re delighted, they’re going to have the healthiest sparkling ever.

It turns out two different groups of alt-modes are in a rivalry to see who can make the baby look like them.

Yes! Good!
