…anyway roadhog is clearly meant to be a metal fan/reflect metal culture to some degree (the way he dresses, his headbanging emote), and on his in-game model and in the comics and everything his nails are very clearly neatly painted black and shiny. rot or radiation doesn’t look like that. obviously. tons of subcultures like goth, metal, punk, biker, etc, involve dudes who paint their nails as part of the badass rebel look, usually black. it’s not some ~mischaracterization~ or ~femininzation~ to point out that roadhog uses nail polish given his character design’s obvious influences and background as a rebel. and given the history i just mentioned but also in general, painting your nails isn’t an inherently feminine or insulting thing to suggest someone does anyway. 

also i wouldn’t take One Dude’s opinion, even if that dude is jeff kaplan, as more legitimate than the dozens of character designers and 3D modelers who actually worked on designing roadhog.

in short, shut the fuck up with your obsession with preserving your perceived ~”masculinity”~ of a couple of comic relief burglar characters who steal cutesy plushies and rob ice cream trucks and drink sweet boba tea with their pinkies out and aren’t meant to be taken that seriously to begin with.
