The moon is genderfluid. They go through phases but is always still the moon.

!!!! This is a great thought! It makes sense to me too, because like in Norse Mythology the moon is male, but in a lot of other traditions the moon is female, like Welsh, etc. So this is one of the great explanations! Thanks for your thoughts, anon!
