So I’ve heard. They sound terrifying.

I didn’t either.

The fact that the American School really doesn’t prepare you to be an adult, and then those same adults blame you when you stumble and fail at being an adult pretty much sums up the american school system.

They teach you how to be a machine and then as soon as you get that magical piece of paper called a diploma you’re magically supposed to be an autonomous person who makes big decisions on your own.

They teach you to swim with only floaties for 13+ years and then one day rip the floaties off and shove you into the deep end.

at least our bodies react in defense and we quickly learn to swim when thrown into the deep end. some parents teach their kids to swim that way.

the school system is just prolonged abuse, especially with the bullying system and victim blaming, especially towards young girls and anyone not a cishet man tbh
