Are those even smaller bugs scuttering all over the roach mom?

Yup! They look like they’re probably wood lice or mites of some sort. I think it’s fairly normal for bioactive tanks to have some sort of little bug in them. 

Hissing cockroaches have symbiotic mites! Those lil bugs are good guys, though humans are sometimes mildly allergic to them.
